FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH CONFIRMED AS OPENING HEADLINE ACT FOR HAMMERFEST 2010

US HEAVYWEIGHTS Five Finger Death Punch will headline Metal Hammer’s fast-growing Hammerfest event on Friday 12th March 2010, topping a bill that also includes DevilDriver and Napalm Death amongst many others. Hammerfest 2 is set to take place in Prestatyn, North Wales between Thursday 11th and Saturday 13th March 2010, and this will be the first time that FFDP – voted ‘Best New Band’ at the Metal Hammer Golden Gods Awards earlier this year – have headlined a UK festival event.Having sold out their recent co-headline tour with Shadows Fall, with the Manchester date being moved to a larger venue, FFDP were keen to return to the UK in support of second studio album ‘War Is The Answer’ – the follow up to their breakthrough ‘The Way Of The Fist’ debut, which has now sold in excess of 400,000 copies worldwide. "Our last tour in the UK was absolutely nuclear - we had the best time and we can't wait to return in March! I always say, we are running on pure fan power, so as well as Metal Hammer, and a big horns up to the magazine, we have to thank our fans for their constant support. We're getting these great opportunities because the Death Punch fans ALWAYS show up ready to throw down!" - Zoltan Bathory, Five Finger Death Punch A NEW single will be released just prior to the Prestatyn show, following on from first single/video ‘Hard To See’ and follow-up track ‘Dying Breed’; the third single from ‘War Is The Answer’ (a Top 10 album in the US) is now confirmed as ‘No One Gets Left Behind’, and it will be available on both 7” coloured vinyl and digital download, supported by previously unreleased material.  This particular track has become a firm favourite with the US military, who have also chosen to display the band’s ‘Death Squad’ motif on vehicles and uniforms alike. In the UK, FFDP have enjoyed a rapid rise to headline status, with the aforementioned ‘The Way Of The Fist’ only achieving a domestic release in January 2009.  After this, the hard-working five-piece took the opening spot on a ‘Defenders Of The Faith’ package, headlined by Lamb Of God and backed by Metal Hammer, before returning to make a career-defining main-stage appearance at Download 2009.
