The EBM fans at the festival were salivating as GRENDEL took the Agra stage, and bashed out stompers such as ‘Harsh Generation,’ and ‘Hate This,’ like atom bombs. As VLRK, M4RK and MRKO left the stage; they had ensured the blood was pumping for their onlookers for the rest of the day. Swedish sextet, DRACONIAN, ascend the Kohlrabizirkus stage and tracks from latest album, ‘Turning Season Within,’ ring out into all the open spaces with emotion and melody. It’s times like this when you can see the diversity of the people in attendance, with the likes of dreadlocked cybergoths and long-haired metallheads sharing this moment together.

Off the back of their new live/remix release, ‘Reformation 1,’ VNV NATION light up the Agra, with Ronan Harris leading his cohorts through a set of their most well known, synthpoppy tracks which don’t let up for their entire set; with ‘Nemesis,’ new tune, ‘Tomorrow Never Comes,’ and favourite ‘Chrome’ leaving the arena like a virtual hot-box.
