Swiss metallers Kruger are out to impress with their fourth release ‘For Glory And The End Of The World’. The album opens with three tracks of raw heaviness, before dwindling off into progressive hardcore territory on fourth track ‘Villains’ and fifth track ‘Centre’.
‘For Glory And The End Of The World’ is an album which appears to be in three acts, the first of which features fast paced riffs and pure metal belligerence, giving way to an interlude of introspection and ambient moments reminiscent of prog giants Isis. Track seven, the mighty ‘Muscle’ features a guest appearance from Joseph Dubplantier of Gojira and signifies the beginning of the final act which sees a return to the heaviness which opened the album.
Mixed by Kurt Ballou of Converge, 'For Glory And The End Of The World 'is an album comprised of moments of intensity merged with moments of brooding melody. This is an imaginative and interesting release.
