Back in 2003, an EP entitled ‘Old School Attack’ was unleashed by another group of Brazilian bullet-belted madmen, Diabolic Force. The three piece return six years later with their debut album, ‘March to Calvary’. Flying the flag for many of their native, underground predecessors, such as Vulcano, Executer and Genocidio (to name but a few), Diabolic Force strive for that raw, ‘Slaytanic’ edge that many new hopefuls are readily achieving.
 
With an ever-so-slightly diverse range of material on the new album, Diabolic Force have kept their Celtic Frost-influenced guitar tone and generically grim vocals. Despite the weak production values holding back the band's pulsating attack, it doesn’t matter on notable tracks such as ‘Useless Existence’ and ‘Prisoner of Wickedness’. However, was it really worth the six year wait? Probably not. Let’s hope the next release is out in year or two, as more from this band will surely be accepted by many underground thrashers hiding in the sewers of planet earth.
