Deviating away from the ever-growing typical black metal stance, leaves Fauna to discover a new entity below the genre's mainstream sound. With its progressive, and somewhat "soundscaped" tendencies, Fauna's debut album, 'The Hunt', takes the listener back to a primitive age, a time before civilization.

Simplicity and feeling is definably the back-bone to Fauna’s 71-minute journey inside a grotesque inhabitant. Its predictable, black metal hazy production and mystically reverberated yells, clearly portray the album's spiritual and emotive aspects, yet still has the attitude of grim, blackened mayhem. The album is a rollercoaster of both articulate segments and raw, energetic, uplifting darkness.

This unique pagan-like brand of black metal has still yet to develop, but without a doubt Fauna will be at the forefront of what could soon be classed as eco-centric black metal.
