With roots that date back to the electro-pop 1980s, IKON’s ‘Love, Hate and Sorrow’ is a tribute to the music that inspired the release of the band’s first album 15 years ago. Three years in the making, ‘Love, Hate and Sorrow’ manages to sound clean and sharp despite its somewhat dated sound, and breathes new life into a Joy Division-enthused, synth-based genre that to this day refuses to fade away.

Never for one moment forgetting the band’s origins, the addition of more modern sounds and textures does little to shy the notion that this is the band’s most accomplished released to date.  Making use of influences such as New Order and Death in June, IKON embrace highly melodic song structures and ambient, synthesizer-based resonating sounds which add a certain beauty to an almost pristine collection of songs.
